Due to implications caused by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the conventional layout for a face-to-face GRACE/GRACE-FO Science Team Meeting (GSTM) 2020 in Potsdam is not possible. Instead, the GSTM2020 will take place as an online meeting in the week from 26 to 30 October 2020 organized by the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam – GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences.

As usual, the GSTM will be a mixture of moderated discussions on specific themes and contributed presentations on various subjects. Considering that this year’s GSTM will be held online, the program committee has decided on the following modifications compared to the usual on-site meetings (see “General information” for more details):

  • The GSTM2020 will consist of live video sessions organized as Zoom online meetings accompanied by presentations which can be discussed offline.
  • To account for the problem of different time zones, there will be live video sessions in the morning and late afternoon (CET). Additionally, the video sessions will be recorded and can be watched on demand later.
  • Presentations will be organized into two types: live displays (presented during video sessions) and offline displays (for offline discussion).
  • Please note that a Zoom account is required to get access to the Zoom meetings.
  • Please read the presentation guidelines and rules of conduct carefully before submitting an abstract or registering.

The meeting will open on Monday, 26 October with a GRACE-FO Project Status session, which consists of the mission and flight segment technical status, future science plans, and status and information on the latest GRACE and GRACE-FO Release 06 data releases from the Science Data System.

On the following 2–4 days (depending on the number of abstracts), the meeting will continue with its scientific program. Abstracts are solicited from the Science Team members and other attendees for presentations in the areas as described in the session description. Authors may submit more than one abstract. Shortly after the submission deadline, the meeting program will be finalized and announced (see “important dates”).

If you have special requirements or suggestions for new data product definitions or for product accuracy, resolution, or latency, we invite you to send a two-page (maximum) summary as a text or PDF file (preferred) to the program committee.
